Well, ’tis Christmas Eve, and all is quiet. Except it’s probably not. Anyhow, I thought I would give easy access to some thoughtful blog posts regarding Christmas. Here they are:
At The Resurgence, Jonathan Dodson gives a reflection by Bono, on Christmas. Here, both men ponder “the poetry” and “genius of the incarnation. Peter Jones also writes on Christmas culture.

At Desiring God, David Mathis writes on Jesus continuing incarnation. The third part is yet to be written, but here are the first two. Part 1 being a brief biblical survey, part 2 being a brief historical theology survey. I think this is good gear.

Bill Muehlenberg at Culture Watch writes an interesting article on some Australian Christmas current affairs. Perhaps worth a peek, even though I’m often not in agreeance with him.
R. C. Sproul has written a telling article, ‘Born of Virgin’ at Ligonier Ministries. An most interesting point made by Sproul is the Incarnation being God’s act of reconciliation with mankind. Hence, as Roger has pointed out elsewhere, the incarnation birth of the Man-God, Jesus of Nazareth, is a a physical and spiritual act of reconciliation, in which it was necessary for there to be an incarnation. Read on here.
With those varied thoughts in mind, I need not say much more. Merry Christmas to whoever reads this. I hope that the reality and magnitude of God’s arrival on earth 200o-ish years ago strikes you as something far greater than the lights, colours and ’stuff’ which fills our senses every year in December.
